Call to Order:
President Jack Winkleman called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.
Guests: We had four guests - Michelle Eastham, Kathy Hamilton, Jan Batson (from Florida), and Shannon Ulewicz.
Minutes of previous meeting:
Jeff Hancock made a motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting with the following corrections: August misspelled, correction for last month's minutes should read "the date for the next month's meeting needs to be revised", and ornament's should read ornaments. Seconded by Keith Hemenway. Motion carried, minutes approved.
Treasurer's Report:
Motion made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Mark Meyer to approve the treasurer's report as given by Alan Bailey.
Library Committee:
The librarian was not in attendance at the meeting. Jack mentioned that basswood donated by former member David Williams was available from Mark Meyer. Magazines donated by the estate of Conrad Wetzel were available also.
Show Committee:
Jeff Hancock had nothing to report.
Old Business:
Marvin Daniels gave a report on the seminar he presented in August.
New Business:
Marvin will present face/eye sticks for the October club mini-seminar.
Jack gave a presentation of the different types of carving gloves and information on where they can be purchased.
Seminars:
Half Pot:
The half pot for $8.50 was won by Mark Meyer.
Show and Tell:
Kathy Vonderahe showed her Santas from Marvin's seminar, a chipmunk, some balls made from golf balls, and the finished pumpkin man from the August club seminar. Marvin Daniels showed his hillbilly on a unicycle with a rifle and moonshine plus a Santa.
Adjournment:
Motion to adjourn at 6:20PM was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Keith Hemenway.
The meeting was followed with a seminar from Jack Winkleman of the pumpkin with mouse pin from Wayne Laramore in the last Woodcarving Illustrated magazine.
