MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

July 13, 2021 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. by President Jack Winkleman.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Kathy Vonderahe made a comment that Robin Meyer was not thanked for helping with the auction. Motion was made to accept June minutes by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Mark Meyer. Motion carried. Minutes approved.

Treasurer's Report:

Treasurer Jon Gunnels gave his report. Motion was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Ben Meyer. Motion carried. Treasurer's report approved.

Library Committee:

Nothing new to report.

Show Committee:

Jeff Hancock talked to us about the show. The show will be on October 23 and 24, 2021 from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the 4-H Center in the Banquet Hall. There will be six tables for vendors and fourteen tables members. No food trucks, we can brown bag it, half pot next month.

Old Business:

The tool auction was a success. Steve wanted to thank everyone that heleped with the auction setup and all that helped to make the auction a success.

Robin is to send a thank you card to Steve Eli.

New Business:

We dicussed the wearing of masks. We are going to let it be up to the member whether they want to wear the mask or not.

Just a head's up, Don D. family has asked that we auction off Don's carving materials. More information to follow as it is available. Auction off for fifty - fifty split.

Jon Gunnels will have more information on Show Half Pot at next meeting.

Seminars:

Rich Wetherbee seminar. We currently only have 3 people that have shown an interest. Is there anyone else that is interestedin this seminar.

Upcoming mini seminars include: Tonight- Ron Tucker will offer a spoon carving mini seminar. August will be a 2021 mini seminar follow up. If you have a project from one of the previous month's mini seminar that you need help finishing. Bring that project to the August meeting and either the carver that presented that mini seminar or another club member will help you. President Jack Winkleman is still looking to fill the rest of the year. Possible = Roy Kline- boxes.

Show and Tell:

Kathy Vonderahe showed her santa and egg.

Ron Tucker showed his rabbit.

Jack Winkleman showed his hiker punk rocker and plumber daisy.

Frank Wildeman showed his spiral tree.

Half Pot:

Half pot was won by Danny Cosley and he donated back to the club.

Adjournment:

Motion was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Ben Meyer. Motion approved. p.m.
