MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

July 12, 2022 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order by President Jack Winkleman at 6:05 P.M.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion to approve the minutes for June meeting was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Ben Meyer. Motion carried. Minutes approved.

Treasurer's Report:

Treasurer Jon Gunnels gave his report for June. Motion was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Kathy Vonderahe. Motion carried. Treasurer's report approved.

Library Committee:

The library is open. Christmas ornament cutouts are available.

Show Committee:

Save the date. The show dates are set for October 22 and 23, 2022. Belcher Carving Supply has confirmed to be at the show.

Old Business:

The Club now has Basswood for sale at the show.

New Business:

1) Jessica from Foster Care in the USA came by before the meeting. She talked to us that she would like the club to carve a Trophy for the schools. She wants it out of wood and left unpainted. The trophy will be 12 inches by 12 inches by 16 inches tall. It will have a plaque with the winning school on it.

2) Kathy has donated a magnifier to the club to be auctioned off tonight.

Seminars:

Upcoming mini seminars include: July- Jack- The real Hair Ball; August- Jeff Hancock- Jeff's Folly; Sept; Oct; Nov

Show and Tell:

Jan Weiss showed her pinecone and snowman.

Frank Wildeman showed his birds on a log.

Kathy Vonderahe showed her santa.

Marvin Daniels showed his aspen folk school art, John Nelson Roughout, and leprechuan.

Bill Kelly showed his cane with a flamingo head.

Half Pot:

Half-Pot was won and given to Marvin Daniels.

Adjournment:

Jeff Hancock made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Jan Weiss. Motion carried.

The next meeting is Tuesday, 9 August, 2022.
