MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

July 11, 2023 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order at 6:03 P.M. by President Mark Meyer. We welcomed guests Jayme Blessow and Jennifer Phillips.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion to approve the minutes for June was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Jan Weiss. Motion carried. Minutes approved.

Treasurer's Report:

Treasurer Roy Kline gave his report. Motion was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Ben Meyer. Motion carried. Treasurer's report approved.

Library Committee:

Nothing new in the library.

Show Committee:

We still need a show chair. President Mark Meyer will be asking for volunteers to fulfill these various duties to ensure the show runs smoothly and efficiently. The Wood Turners will be joining us at our fall show. Mark your calendars and save the date of October 28 and 29, 2023 at the 4 H Center.

Old Business:

The show dates are October 28 and 29, 2023.

New Business:

Seton Residence asked if one of us could carve a heart wall hanging for them. The wall hanging would need to be done by July 27; with the dimensions being 8 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches thick x 6 inches wide.

Kathy did carve at West side Bazaar and farmer's market promoting the club. Kathy was outside in front of the Emporiumon Franklin Street.

Robin Meyer seen Mark Weil and updated the club members on how he is doing.

President Mark Meyer, also, need seminar leaders for August and October meetings. So if there is something specific or a needed topic let Mark know.

Seminars:

Kathy has tonight's seminar.

Show and Tell:

Roy Kline showed his miniature books, Holy Bible, bookworm in a book, and boy sitting on some miniature books.

Kathy Vonderahe showed her carved egg with flowers and dogs.

Marvin Daniels showed his wood spirits bark carvings, elf and santa claus.

Half Pot:

Half-pot was won and given to Marvin Daniels.

Adjournment:

Jeff Hancock made a motion to adjourn and Kathy Vonderahe seconded. Motion carried Meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting is Tuesday, August 8, 2023
